  Read the book before you go see the movie to make it easier to follow the scenes. The story is SUPPOSED to be dark and in the book there is a deeper understanding of the storyline . In movies made from books it`s never AS good, but this movie tried very hard to live up to the book`s popularity and intensity. I thought it was very well done and I`m looking forward to the next one. Kudos for the producer/director/writers for LOTR.

  Lord of the Rings was the BEST! i loved it... you don`t have to read the books to understand it! it gives you some background info and they make the plot and characters easier to understand! ¤o and this movie is NOT too long...it seemed way to short! people who got bored during this movie must have ADD! but this movie was so exciting, i can`t even see how ppl w/ADD could be bored! Legolas/Orlando Bloom, Frodo/Elijah Wood, n Aragorn/Viggo Mortensen were SOOO hot! :D IT was worth it just to see them! :p

  I really liked the movie. It`s full of action and special effects. It kinda dissappointed.

  Good special effects but overall too long, predictable, & dull. I was bored with more than an hour still to go.

  I was kind of disappointed, but maybe that`s because I hadn`t read any of the books. Because I hadn`t, I really didn`t fell an attachment to any of the characters. Still, the effects were amazing and the scenery was beautiful!

  The endong left me hanging i cant wait til the next ones come out
