This movie was absolutely breathtaking on so many different levels. From the stunning tableaus, the entire film was a cornucopia of visual delights. Shown in 3D, I was at first a little skeptical because I usually view 3D movies as a trend and not a particularly good one. In this case, I was happy to have my expectations blown away, and actually found myself flinching at flying bits of shrapnel, that's how engaging this movie was. From an acting perspective, Sandra Bullock was a marvel. She brought the audience into her world so well that I felt her fear and claustrophobia and desperation as though I was right beside her. I haven't seen a woman look so alone since Anne Hathaway hosted the Oscars! Jokes aside, she took this incredible movie and carried the entire weight with ease. While George Clooney was excellent in his 13 minutes of screen time, Ms Bullock took a movie that could have suffocated a lesser actress, and showed us why she won an Oscar, and why she should definitely win another. All in all, this movie is definitely 5 stars, and I highly recommend it. One of those movies I will see again to find new elements and complexities in the story.
