A GREAT SURPRISE!! Was wondering how a movie with basically one actor was gonna be interesting, but it was INCREDIBLE! James Franco blew me away... absolutely one of the best performances i've seen in a long time! He carried the movie.... and "the scene" that I was dreading wasn't even that bad. TOTALLY WORTH IT!

Tremendous. Danny Boyle and James Franco both did such phenomenal work here. Captivating, compelling, so touching. The gore of the amputation is absolutely worth living through to get to the beauty, joy and inspiration that comes after.

James Franco's performance carries the film. Good soundtrack. Great photography and vistas. Very endearing story about the will to survive.

Good movie. Held my interest until the end but rather gory.

James Franco carries the movie well on his own, which is hard to do considering he doesn't have another character to play off of.

I was a little disappointed in this one. I kept waiting for something to happen. Unfortunately the best part was when he cut his arm off.
