  Is surprisingly boring. I cant help but think Guy Ritchie only had the one film to make, as his films have become increasingly uninteresting. No 'bro-mance' brewing between our leads either, as Law's performance is uncharacteristically forgetable.

  Conan Doyle must be turning in his grave wherever it may be to even think that his name is linked with this pile of crap. The best things in the film was that it possible looked like London at the end of the 1800s, and the acting was at least passable from Jude Law and Rachel Mcadams but what a mixed up story which lost me part way through. Also at the Milton Galaxy the sound was just blaring out. WHY?

  Is it a cerebral slow moving British story true to the original Sherlock Holmes stories? No. Is it an entertaining movie worth going to see? Absolutely.

  we loved both downey & law, thought they worked really well together, interesting take on holmes & watson, clever fun script, a good romp with a few laughs...slightly obvious groundwork for a sequel (or 2) which is fine with me...

  Great movie. Plenty of surprises, twists, humour and some interesting use of slow motion. The camaraderie between Watson and Holmes is portrayed very well by the actors and the acting is very good.

  Robert Downy Junior and Jude Law were really amazing in this movie...It definitely caught my attention and kept it throughout the whole movie.

  Amazing Movie! Old London was so gritty and realistic - not like most Hollywood movies. Much depth to Downey's Holmes and to Law's Watson. True, you can't deduce all the twists from the 'clues' -so not quite a traditional mystery - but I didn't need that formulaic approach. What a revitalization of what Holmes can be like. I love this version more than if he was purely intellectual. My Twenties-Son felt the same way about the movie, and my wife liked it too, but would have preferred a more cerebral Holmes. I do hope this movie does well enough to merit many sequels!

  I have never read Sherlock Holmes or seen previous shows/movies so I didn't have any expectations. I enjoyed the movie. I love Robert Downey Jr. - he's such a good actor and yummy.

  Caution. The movie was interesting enough, however, it is NOT Sherlock Holmes. Law's Watson was OK. However, Downey's Holmes is awful. He is not true to the novel character at all. He has no grace or wit, just muscles. Most of the movie is about him fighting physically and quite often he seems an imbecile. He is not quirky, he is just rude. Irene Adler IS NOT A SLUT! She is a clever woman ahead of her time, who really loved the prince in the novel. If you are a fan of the novel you will be disappointed by the misrepresentation. However, if you like an action flick, this movie is not bad.
