I had high hopes but a far cry from the other Superman movies. It had very much a Marvel feel to it and its almost as if Gunn is out to ruin DC as well. Sorry people, don't hate me, but this reboot should be booted to the curb.

I like James Gunn movies, but he is definitely starting to repeat himself. Examples: team of misfits who sort of work well together. In GOTG2 remember the golden people Rocket stole the battery from? They chased the Guardians remotely and one by one their screens went black when their ships were blown up. In Superman, he is beaten up with the assist from drones which were viewed by Lex's team and one by one their screens went down. Or GOTG3 with the "bad dog" who, of course is cute and ultimately has powers which saves everyone. Superman has Krypto the "bad dog" who ultimately is a big help. There's some other things but those are the big ones. The best running joke is that all the women love Jimmy and he knows it and it bothers him ha ha. It's brighter, more upbeat and pretty decent. Let Batman movies be Snyder dark.

Made a review. 3/5. But apparently it changed on me to a 5/5.

Got to see Superman in IMAX form today. The acting was good, the script could’ve been better. Lots of special effects for the action lovers. It was better than I thought it would be. Who’d knew that the star would be a hyper dog. I’d give it a 6/10.

This version of Superman is a far cry from the heroic figure of the 1960s comics, featuring a superhero with a dad bod, wearing a distorted and a comical super suit. Instead of the man of steel it portrayed Superman as a weak and naive Kryptonian lacking the discernment, full powers and proud history of the original character. If I could give this movie a zero, I would. On top of that, it transformed Superman's Kryptonian parents into merciless villains, introduced Supergirl as his cousin late in the movie as an irresponsible, boozing brat, and portrayed Krypto the Super dog as an undisciplined, dim-witted mutt—all disappointing and unnecessary distortions. The production felt weak, the story uninspiring, and the ending entirely predictable. It came off as more a crossover between "I Robot", "Who’s line is it anyway" and "H.R. Pufnstuf" than a serious Superman film. Bring back the Man of Steel!

7 OUT 10. just ok.. the good mister terrfic as for me he steals the show, superman was good too as well as lex, the bad was the ending with sipergirl as they made look like she hair head that was disappointed, that plus Kent parents visuals, the ugly was the pocket dimension as those affects were bad and had weird things in it, but still enjoyed watching superman ,

Super fun! This loopy, light-hearted adventure feels like the true sequel to Superman III that we always wanted but never really got. There are echoes of Robert Vaughn's Ross Webster in Nicholas Hoult's portrayal of Lex Luthor, and Nathan Fillion's Guy Gardner is the film's wild card, a character as mysterious and every bit as nefarious as Richard Pryor's Gus Gorman from III. Superman, unfortunately, is rather wimpy this time out, his ill-fitting tights inspiring more hoots and hollers than a knowing respect for The Law when he appears. Lois Lane is under-utilized in this version but that's a good thing because the actress playing her is terrible. Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl more than compensates, however, as do the special effects and an effective use of product placement to complement the experience. The movie isn't perfect, but Superman fans have much to cheer about this summer. *** / *****

Some of the choices they made for shot composition took some time to get used to, but I enjoyed the characterization and story. Anyone complaining about "political messaging" has clearly never watched a movie before; all media is political, you just don't like what this movie is saying.

Listen when I say I am not a Superman fan. But when my son insisted, we go I did solely for him. From the first scene I kid you not. I was interested. I mean it started with him after he lost his first battle. From there the whole 2 hours and 9 minutes I absolutely loved. The incredible cast, the story line absolutely brilliant.
