I was very disappointed. I loved the first two movies. Bryan Singer did a great job with them and who can blame him for jumping ship for Superman. Brett Ratner seems to have castrated the X-Men. The swelling music and sappy lines made this installment a real disappointment.

The action and special effects were good but anyone who reads the comic books will be disappointed by the movie plot which basically massacred the comic book storyline. If you`re not familiar with the comics, though, you will probably enjoy this movie as a fun, action-filled, entertaining event.

If the excellent character development didn’t exist in the first two X-movies, thanks to previous director Bryan Singer, then X-Men: The Last Stand would fail. Current director, Brett Ratner, doesn’t know how to coach meaningful performances from his characters, but does know to blend special effects. Since we already learned to care about the X-Men in the first two movies, Ratner can get away with ignoring the nuances of character development in the third movie and still leave us satisfied.
