another stand out performance by viola davis in this inspiring movie based on a true story. it's a tutorial about passion. reignite yours. teachers, parents & "politicians" should see this movie (with their kids, if possible).

although a feel good movie with two strong stars, neither the writing nor the acting created the character development needed to get the audience as thrilled with the ending as we should have been.

i really loved this moive especially because i am just a new teacher with the school board and it showed that i can even strive for more with the children and that i should make the effort to give back even more time and energy to the children and working with children is my life and my wonderful dream job and this moive has an important message for parents and teachers get involve and support your child' school whatever you do, sonia cavichia, recommend really good moive out of ten i would give it a nine and watch it again as well too.

a heart-wrenching tale about kids not receiving the education they need at their local school in a poor neighborhood. it was very believable, and viola davis gave it her passionate all in the role. maggie gyllenhall was really good too, and she looked so beautiful. your heart really bled for the kids. the man beside me was crying in the theatre! i didn't think they were going to get their school, and it was such a delight when they did. yippee, feel good happy ending!

a great movie that shows you that people can make a difference even when the system tries to beat you down.

inspired by true events, maggie gyllenhaal and viola davis star in this film about a mother and a teacher who band together and use the parent trigger law to transform their children’s failing inner city elementary school in pittsburgh. despite good performances by gyllenhaal and davis and inspirational messages regarding what could happen if we put our kids first, this film missed the mark by not addressing real issues like the lack of funding in our public school systems. the movie will make you cry and smile but not without feeling a little manipulated.
