Magnificent thriller, we need more quality movies like The Ghost writer. It is a gem and Polanski was rightfully crowned as the best director at the Film Festival in Berlin, in February, 2010. It is a fact that European audience is much more intelligent than North American, hence they do value quality.

Very smart movie - a real gem. This movie illustrates that a smart script is the key to a good movie.

This movie was long, the ending was unpredictble yet satisfied me if it only happened sooner. All of the actors acted quite well, yet the story dragged, though you do get to see nice scenery, and you don't know if you should root for Pierec Broslin but you want to believe he's innocent though behind every great man theres a GREAT woman.

This is a crazy left-wing, anti war, anti Bush/Blair movie that is just Delicious. Loved it!

Except for the last minute, this was a beautifully filmed, well acted film. A good thriller, sort of Hitchcockian as mentioned by another reviewer. There is something about rain, gloom and bleakness that appeals to me. However, the ending was a slap in the face.I think Polanski shows a real lack of respect for his audience with this ending. There were a dozen other more plausible, logical endings for a film like this. Wait for TV or rent it!

Why, why, why do these adolescent minded individuals who can't think in complex terms bother going to a movie like this? They'll never, ever get it. Go see an action cartoon or something will ya. Although your money is appreciated at the box office I'm sure your 3 or 4 word critique is not.

Brought me back to the Hitchcock era but with an appropriate tone for the millenium. Keeps you thinking throughout. Superbly done. Drab oceanside setting in a grey concrete and cloistered atmosphere. Polanski may be many things but he's one heck of a director no doubt about it.
