An exciting war movie from beginning to end. A touching story of WW II and one of Norway's most decorated war hero, Max Manus. His struggle and victory against the Nazi to free his country was uniquely portrayed.

Entertaining film, full of suspense. Great performances and a strong story line. Nice to see a biography come to life.

I was surprised by the subtitles, but got quickly into it. I enjoyed the movie very much even if I am not a fan of war time stories.

The film is strong because it focuses on character rather than devoting itself to fighting / illustrating the horrors of war - we've viewed enough filmic images of Hitler over the years. The characters draw you into the movie and the suspense and, at times, humour keep you. I especially admired the conculsion of the film (and the beautiful costumes).

Although it breaks no new ground in storytelling, "Max Manus" stands head and shoulders above most World War II pictures. It also illuminates the story of Norway's resistance to Hitler -- something many viewers know nothing about. I was amazed at how brave these fighters were with the technology they had at hand. They actually had to physically place explosives on ships - unlike today when explosions can be detonated by cellphones. The actors are all very good, particularly those playing "Max" and "Tikken." It was so interesting that I came home and looked up all I could on the Norwegian World War II resistance. A big thumbs up to the filmmakers!
