The film that made Tom Cruise a star. In the early 1980s the R-rated teen sex comedy was a popular subgenre but most of these films were pretty crude: lots of rude humor combined with titillating female nudity. Writer/director Paul Brickman takes this subgenre and injects intelligence and more class than usual. Very enjoyable.
