My family became familiar with the cartoon's first. I watched the movie first to find that the movie with today's action films technology was tastefully mastered for my son's who are 6 and 9. I monitor very closely what my children watch and have found Avatar to be educational, humorous, and entertaining all at the same time. Many other movies and cartoon's have some wonderful entertainment but true teaching without violence. The character Aang teaches that regardless of the pressures sorrounding that through honor, peace, and respect of life we may live as one. I recommend this movie and the cartoon's to anyone with either gender.

Great movie...I can't wait to get an actual copy of it for my movie collection. I was unable to watch the show when it was on originally...but have since seen a few and read the books.

Let me start off by saying even though I am teased all the time about it I LOVE M. Night. This did not feel like M. Night, My cousin said that thire were three or four books I think instead of seperating them they should have condensed and made it into one movie. I seemed like a lot of filler and fluff. visuatls were cool then.

This movie was horrible in comparison to the nickelodeon show. The special effects were incredibly unrealistic and the acting was absolutely terrible. The characters were very dissimilar to how they're actually supposed to be and the names were mispronounced continually. Did they even watch the original? Because it's far more enjoyable and entertaining than the film. Fail. Just... Fail

Very entertaining, good story and ok for the kids to see. My husband and I enjoyed it. We'll add this to the family's collection of DVDs.
