  Maybe its just me, but the way the antagonist was acting reminded me of Bella swan..."why don't you just love me..?" So didnt like that. And dark movies don't always have to have sexual scenes...ewww....a kiss fine...but not full throttle.

  the special effects were great. the plot line was only o.k. - my mother who watched the show back in the 60's liked the plot better than me.

  i love johnny depp and have long admired tim burton's work so i was excited about their most recent collaboration. unfortunately, this one fell a bit short for me. the funniest lines in the movie were those in the trailer. for the most part, i enjoyed johnny depp's turn as barnabus collins. he brought just the right amount of quirkiness to the role but i felt that the plot just didn't give the actors enough to sink their teeth into, so to speak. still, it was somewhat entertaining.
