It is characteristic of the Coen brothers (only Ethan, Joel was not involved in this movie) with quirky characters and jarring violence and sexuality. The 70's setting is a nice touch to create a liberated atmosphere. I agree with others that this movie won't win any awards but it is unique and a nice departure from the cookie cutter films we are frequently subjected to.

I wish I had known that this movie had girls going down on each other and girls putting sex toys in another's rectum and later on washing the sex toy, etc.

Really? Why does this exist? The detective story is just barely a story. It's mostly an excuse to show women doing sex with each other and men being jerks.

If it's a touch of Film Noir with a 70's cinematic backdrop, and fashion sense? Present day small town vibe. This movie has it, kinda, see plenty of prop references i.e. corded wall touch-tone phone, rolodex, vehicles, etc. Dragnet descriptive dialogue (sort of) and the graphic sapphic scenes (edited just enough for the prudes, see other reviews) for all wrapped into a worthwhile watch.

A zany movie, typical Coen, which is why I went to see it, A few threads that never quite resolved themselves but the movie was still interesting. The lesbian sex was surprisingly graphic and two older couples did leave the movie but it did set a certain Coen tone. While the immediate movie did resolve itself there is clearly a sequel in mind. In fact from what what I researched, "Honey Don't" might be loosely the second in an intended trilogy. The movie won't win any awards but with popcorn and soda on a Sunday afternoon, it entertained.

If you want to see naked women having sex....then this is the movie for you! The plot finally evolved enough so you knew what was happening but there were so many areas in the movie that were left hanging and incomplete. There were many fight scenes mostly involving the women. My advice, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN OR YOUR MOM!!!!
