It was an amazing story of a man who did what it took to stay alive. I like the fact that he prayed for help and kept his promises to God.

FIVE STARS!!! Real life violent, mans inhumanity to man and it exemplifies mans inner strength to endure abject torture. This actor MUST BE GIVEN ACTOR OF THE YEAR! Fantastic character!

Realistic life. The true story of a mans torture and survival is beyond incredible. It's sorrowful yet triumphant. Very graphic violence re: true war crimes.

An excellent movie, all aspects of the movie were tremendous. Nice that somebody actually remembered how to make a movie. I highly recommend it.

I was distracted by inconsistencies i.e.,in the raft scene, which was suppose to be 45 days at sea, the blonde guy had a beard and the other two guys had neatly groomed goatees! What? They had nothing with which to shave. For me, little things like that take credibility away from the movie as a whole. Another example is in the concentration camp. The Japanese antagonist guard has a breakdown in front of his men and the prisoners, and drops to his knees crying. No! Not in front of his soldiers; that would not happen. He would lose face in front of his own men. That bothered me.
