the soundtrack sucked, and the film looked like it was shot for $1.95. one of the worst films of this or any other year.

this movie is supposed to be a tribute to 80's rock and yet the score is typical broadway musical(nothing resembling rock).only good thing was tom cruise's performance and that's just not enough to save this movie.

I thought this movie was funny and FUN! I was curious to see how Tom Cruise would do in a musical, since its not his typical genre, but he was surprisingly good. He did pretty good renditions of songs by Poison, Def Lepard, etc. It brought back memories of the good ol' days of great rock concerts & bar bands!

As someone who grew up in the eighties as a huge fan of rock and Big Hair days I saw the movie with my 13 year old daughter who I dragged to only find out sgmhe also thoroughly enjoyed it....Yes it was a little cheesy and underdeveloped but I will definitely see it again if nit several times more....the next time will Have to be with a group of friends so we can sing along!!!!!I would have lived to see the stage play! Anyone from this wonderful era in your life should go see this movie!

if you grew up in the 80s, this movie is a must see. if you can't enjoy the rock music from the 80s, you shouldn't bother. this is the only musical i've ever enjoyed. the costumes are great, the acting is polished (over-acted, like all musicals and comedies) and the story flows at a comfortable rate. there's plenty of cliche plot to connect the terrific songs. if you're anywhere near 40 years old, get yourself to this movie.
