A hilarious yet dangerous 'history" lesson for everyone. I found all of the facts in this film to be 100% *FALSE* . (or to use a phrase the D'Souza sheeple & his pardoner use all too often...) 100% FAKE NEWS.
There are still too many on the political right side who won't recognize the actual truth of how much the current administration is jeopardizing our American freedoms and our capitalism. Won't recognize that Donald J Trump is only for himself. Won't recognize that he's a liar and unstable and lacks intelligence we should expect from an American President. Anyone who agrees with this film should do their own research.
During the 1860s, Republicans, who dominated northern states, orchestrated an ambitious expansion of FEDERAL power, helping to fund the transcontinental railroad, the state university system and the settlement of the West by homesteaders, and instating a national currency and protective tariff. Democrats, who dominated the South, opposed these measures. SHORTLY after the Civil War, Republicans passed laws that granted protections for African Americans but that would be one of the final measures they would take that, if it happened around 1900, would be called a "Democratic Party" measure.
Sometime between @ 1869 and 1904 the Democratic party of small government became the party of larger federal government, and the Republican party of big government became committed to curbing federal. Between 1904 then and roughly 1930, all the other practices of the two parties flip-flopped. The Republicans became supporters of the Southerners, especially whites in the South, still massively upset with losing their slaves and therefore their free or low cost labor.
