Urbanized Synopsis
Whether you live in Mumbai (36 million) or Brighton (146,000 residents), in a growing Rio de Janeiro (14.5 million) or a depopulating Detroit (714,000, down from 2 million), the challenges are the same: balancing individual comfort and cohabitation, nature and civilization, traffic, pedestrian safety and wealth. These issues are critical because by 2050, 75 per cent of the population will live in urban areas. This documentary takes a look at the future of cities by exploring a variety of urban design projects around the world.
