Admitted to a psychiatric hospital to treat her anorexia and depression, Eve escapes and runs away to Glasgow, where she hopes to start a career as a musician. She meets James, an aspiring songwriter and guitarist and he lets her stay in a spare room in his apartment. The two, joined by James’ guitar student Cassie, write music together. Although James has feelings for Eve, he’s too shy to tell her. Oblivious, Eve falls for Anton, an arrogant Swiss singer who’s the frontman for an up-and-coming band, The Wobbly Legged Rats.
She gives Anton a tape of her music to give to producers, but soon discovers he didn’t pass the tape on because he doesn’t think it’s good enough. Meanwhile, James distances himself from Eve because of her relationship with Anton.
