The Wave (2016) Synopsis

Nestled in Norway's Sunnmøre region, the mountain Åkerneset towers above the small tourist village of Geiranger. Although strikingly beautiful, the mountain is constantly at risk of collapsing into the fjordt. Kristian (Kristoffer Joner), a geologist, has worked for several years at Geiranger's warning centre, but is now moving on to a more prestigious job with an oil company.

At least, that was the plan. The exact day he's about to drive his family to their new life in the city, Kristian senses something isn't right. It's the middle of tourist season and something is shifting in the mountain. No one wants to believe this could be the big one, but when the mountain begins to crumble, every soul in Geiranger has 10 minutes to get to high ground before a tsunami hits.
