5 Broken Cameras Synopsis

Emad, a Palestinian villager, gets his first video camera after the birth of his fourth son, Gibreel. Their family lives in the village of Bil'in, where a separation barrier is being built. The villagers don't like the decision and two of Emad's best friends lead the resistance effort. While filming Gibreel growing up, Emad also documents the struggle taking place in the village, which soon affects his family and his own life.

As people are arrested every day and the night raids frighten his young family, Emad, his friends and brothers, are either shot or arrested. His camera gets smashed, but over the course of five years, he continues to get new cameras, each one telling a part of his story.
