The Devil and Daniel Johnston Synopsis

A look at the tumultuous life of cult singer/ songwriter/artist Daniel Johnston. Using home movies, vintage performances and current footage, the film shows a genius whose organic songs have been covered by the likes of Beck and Pearl Jam, and whose comic drawings have been exhibited by galleries worldwide. It also shows a man who went from a spot on MTV to stints in mental hospitals to a stay in jail.
