Seven follows Somerset (Morgan Freeman), a retiring police detective, and newcomer Mills (Brad Pitt) who are paired together to work on a brutal case involving a serial killer.
When an obese man is found brutally murdered in his home, the seasoned Somerset realizes this is no ordinary killing and that someone tortured him because of his appetite. The two detectives quickly discover that the slayings reflect the seven deadly sins of gluttony, greed, sloth, envy, wrath, pride, and lust, leading Somerset and Mills on a desperate search to find the mysterious John Doe, who is responsible for these gruesome murders. As the case builds to a startling conclusion, Somerset and Mills become more involved than they ever could have imagined.
