In a dystopian society, The Running Man is the top-rated show on television. It's a deadly competition in which three contestants have to run for their lives from hunters. If any of them lasts 30 days, they receive $1 billion.
Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is desperate to save his sick daughter who needs proper medicine and a doctor, but he doesn't want to be on The Running Man because no one has ever survived it. He goes to the television station to audition for one of the less popular shows, which are also dangerous, but not deadly. However, the show’s charming but ruthless producer, Dan Killian (Josh Brolin), tells Ben that he's only right for The Running Man. Ben reluctantly accepts, and within 24 hours, he's on the run, trying to stay alive.
Based on the novel by Stephen King.
