PAX AMERICANA examines the origins and reality of the militarization of space. In a language tinted with irony and peppered with shocking facts, the film opens a debate that until now has been reserved for the specialists, some of whom maintain that the arms race in space can only lead to apocalypse. Using testimony from members of the military, scientific organizations and from politicians and activists, the film presents three themes: the history of the militarization of space from the Nazi era to today's global domination by the United States; the geopolitical, economic, social and environmental risks involved; and the organizations fighting for the preservation of a non-militarized space.
